HANNAH MILLS – TOKYO 2020 UNCERTAINTY ‘EXHAUSTING’

Olympic sailing champion and Rio 2016 gold medallist Hannah Mills stated that the pandemic-related disruption and uncertainty is “exhausting”. According to the organisers, the postponed 2020 Games will be held as planned in July, which leaves 200 days to go for the event.

SAUL ‘CANELO’ ALVAREZ BOUT WITH AVNI YILDIRIM IN FEBRUARY

Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is all set to fight against Avni Yildirim to defend his WBC and WBA world super-middleweight boxing titles. The bout will take place on 27 February 2021 at Hard Rock Stadium in Florida. Alvarez won the WBA belt by defeating Britain’s Callum Smith in December.

LONDON MARATHON ORGANISERS EXPECTING A RECORD 50,000 RUNNERS IN THE 2021 RACE

The organisers of London Marathon are “very optimistic” and are expecting a record 50,000 runners to participate in the race to be held on 3 October this year. The last year saw only elite athletes being a part of the race in a specially designed closed-loop course due to the pandemic.

However, the Czech FA states that Bican’s total is actually 821 goals, which means that Ronaldo has yet to break the record.

After several lost penalty corner chances, Indian captain Rani Rampal scored in the fourth quarter to lead the country into a 1-1 draw against Argentina juniors. The result came as a second straight draw for Team India, coming after a 2-2 result in the opening match of the tour.

The Indian Sports Ministry has declared that it will name all the new and upgraded Sports Authority of India (SAI) facilities after renowned sportspersons and athletes who have earned accolades for the nation. The initiative aims to honour the sporting heroes of the country.
